As part of a three-day workshop at our school, the classes 4A and 4D took part in the program “English in Action”. Under the motto “English only”, only English was spoken during the workshop – code-switching was not allowed. The workshop was led by native speakers, which gave the students authentic language situations and direct contact with the English language.
During the three days, the focus was on many different interactive and communicative activities. Through games, group work, presentations, and creative tasks, the students were able to use and improve their English skills in real-life situations.
A special highlight were the final role plays, which were presented in front of the whole group. These created a lively and often very funny atmosphere and showed the students’ creativity and effort.
Overall, the workshop was an intensive, motivating, and practical opportunity to experience and use English outside the regular classroom.
